Jims, fat-5 transm. superkit

The JIMS Fat-5 Overdrive are 5-speed transmissions with wider gears to handle the extreme peak loads on the transmissions with todays high power engines and big tires with a lot of traction. These peak loads rise far above the loads for what standard gears were designed to endure. The JIMS Fat Gear transmission are equipped with gears that are 18% up to 53% wider, depending on the load each gear set must carry. Gear ratio's are: 1st 2.94:1, 2nd 1.93:1, 3rd, 1.31:1, 4th 1.00:1, 5th 0.886:1 overdrive (stock is 1:1).
The Fat Gear™ Superkits are sold as a gear cluster installed in a trapdoor. Necessary shifting components, gaskets and unique components are supplied to be installed in an existing 5-speed transmission housing.
Note: Custom application. Because of the width of the gears this transmission is +.560" (13mm) wider than stock at the transmission cover. This may interfere with exhaust and/or oil filler spout. Necessary modifications must be made.
