BDL, Shorty Drive 2" open belt drive kit, Polished

The perfect set-up for minimalists. The new Shorty starter housing is a typical form-meets-function design, smaller or electric start with less bulk is technically not possible. The BDL Shorty Drive kit comes with a rear pulley plate with starter housing, rear pulley with the BDL Balls lock-up clutch, starter gear cover, rear pulley cover, front pulley and belt.
This 2" electric start belt drive kit is designed to be used on 70-78 Shovelhead models with the ratchet top type 4-speed transmission, with rear chain only. Modifications are necessary to install this kit. Amongst others: When fitted to FX models, the oil tank bracket must be cut to allow proper fitment of the starter. On FL models this modification is not necessary. On both FL, FX models a L79-86 clutch arm (MCS 516400, OEM 37054-79A) must be used. Some clearancing work on this arm is needed.
Note: A 89-93 model starter motor can be used, as long as it has stock dimensions.
